Angry Little Monsters!
Mrs. Corrente’s fifth graders drew monsters as part of their color unit. They talked about the facial features of a monster and how important it is to draw expressive features to give the appearance of a mood. In this lesson, the monsters were to be angry and students had to find ways to show this through their drawing. The students learned that analogous colors are colors that sit next to each other on the color wheel and share a common hue. An example would be yellow, yellow-orange and orange. When these colors are used together in design, they complement each other well.
It also was a great use for all the little colored pencils that are too short to use!
