Mr. William F. Coughlin, community member of the South School Council, recently did a public speaking lesson with 5th graders in Ms. Gabriels' class. Mrs. Suzanne Jolley, our librarian, welcomed the guest speaker during one of her classes. The subject was "lying", a rather random topic, but one of great interest to students. Especially, enjoyable was when students were placed in the black chair and were asked a series of questions. Every answer needed to be a lie. It got confusing at times and students were laughing hysterically as they realized how it feels to be caught up in a lie. The concluding message was...Always tell the truth!
