Thanks to Mr. Drew Davey for helping out. Mrs. Jolley and Ms. Bauman continue to organize the event so very well.
It was a day of patriotic pride as the fifth graders lead the way to our celebration yesterday. Neyla, Christopher and Lena lead us in the pledge. Flag folding was demonstrated by fifth graders. First and K students recited poetry after second graders told us the story of Betsy Ross. We sang and played recorders much to the delight of many parents, grandparents, and family friends. Dhruvi Patel received a certificate for winning a bookmark design for the Kids Voting Committee.
Thanks to Mr. Drew Davey for helping out. Mrs. Jolley and Ms. Bauman continue to organize the event so very well.

An amazing summer science opportunity was won by Miss Ella Holden of grade 3. For the second straight year, the South School Staff is proud to present a free 2 week Summer Science Program at Massasoit Community College in Canton to one lucky student.
The program is entitled Look What I Created! and it runs from July 7-18, 2014. Any grade 3, 4, or 5 South School student was eligible to apply by writing an essay to answer the following question: What part of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) interests you the most and why? Mrs. Mulvey chose the winning essay. For more information about this program please visit www.massasoit.edu/science4kids Patrick Smith, student of Mrs. Doherty in grade 4 won the South School's PTO Raffle to ride to school on a fire engine. South Elementary Students perform in the Chorus and Bands on June 4, 2014. Music selections included Beethoven's Theme, Two Bridges March and The Star Spangled Banner. Ms. Bauman, Miss Olivier, Ms. Dorgan and Mr. Davey are our wonderful music specialists who share their love of music and teaching talents with our students. South School Band...Best in the Land!
