This Monday, March 3rd, Community Leaders were invited to celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday. The event was coordinated once again by Mrs. Melissa Johnson, grade 3 teacher. She invited various town and community leaders to read a story to a class and to discuss their roles in society. We were delighted to welcome Selectwoman Cynthia Walsh, Fire Chief Dolloff, Police Sgt Murphy, Also representing the school system were School Committee members, Mrs. Sovinee and Mr. Dolinsky. Ms. Sullivan, K-12 STEM Curriculum Administrative Supervisor and Mr. Galligan, K-12 Humanities Curriculum Administrative Supervisor , Mrs. Burak and Mr Guglia, OMS Asst Principals and Ms. Miller, SHS Principal. Other representatives from the school community were Mrs. Tucker and Ms. Sampson, Director and Assistant Director of Special Education respectively as well as School Council Representatives, Mrs. Shane (mother of Harrison and Aidan), Mrs. Mitchell (mother of Lauren) and Mr. Coughlin (father of Mrs. Mulvey). Students escorted the readers to classrooms after offering them refreshments that were set up by Mrs. Johnson with help from Ms. Barry and Ms. Mulkern. It was a wonderful literacy celebration for all involved.
