In addition to language arts, mathematics and science, Social Studies is a curricular unit in each of our grades. Grade 2 focuses on world geography. Soon they will connect that knowledge to their heritage projects. Sivannah shares her love of continents and interesting facts with me on the stairs of the stage. Her aunt bought her the book and she enhanced her class study by sharing it. The book is so well written, I hope to purchase copies for all second graders in next year's budget. Grade 4 studies geography with a closer and more in depth examination of the 50 states. Leading up to it is the Landform Project that students from Miss Asztalos' class proudly display. I had a chance to listen to their oral presentations and was so proud of their ability to speak publicly, accurately and extensively because of their research using the classroom iPads.
